1. Our Commitment

Every fragrance offered by Maison Em is genuine, and originates from an original retail bottle produced by the brand.

We never produce, source or sell imitations, replicas, “inspired-by” versions or counterfeit products.

Maison Em L.L.C-FZ is the seller and the party responsible to you for this commitment. Sourcing, verification and preparation may be carried out by Maison Em itself, or by a company under common ownership with Maison Em, or by a supplier acting on its behalf, and this may change over time. The standards on this page, and Maison Em’s responsibility to you, apply in every case.

2. Where We Source

We source genuine retail bottles from:

• retailers
• distributors and verified suppliers
• established industry partners
• established private collectors

We are not an authorised distributor or agent of any fragrance house, and we do not source directly from fragrance manufacturers. Our sourcing is independent, and our independence is disclosed openly across this site, where relevant.

For inventory acquired under Maison Em's current sourcing procedures, we maintain acquisition records appropriate to the circumstances, which may include source or supplier information, acquisition date, cost basis, product identifiers and supporting documentation. Certain fragrances may originate from legacy founder inventory acquired before the implementation of these procedures and may therefore have more limited historical acquisition records.

3. How We Verify

Verification happens at intake, before any fragrance is decanted — carried out by whoever receives the source bottle, whether that is Maison Em itself or a company or supplier acting on its behalf. The standard is the same in either case, and it is contractually required of any supplier.

Source bottles are subject to authenticity and condition checks appropriate to the source, product and information available to us. These may include…

• packaging and print consistency
• batch code presence, format and legibility, where a code is present — its absence or illegibility is recorded at intake and triggers additional verification rather than automatic rejection
• bottle, cap, collar and engraving characteristics
• weight and fill consistency
• olfactive assessment against reference
• supplier record and provenance documentation

Where Maison Em has a material concern regarding authenticity or condition, the product is not offered for sale unless that concern is satisfactorily resolved.

Where finished units are supplied to Maison Em by a preparing company or supplier, Maison Em additionally:

• requires contractual warranties of authenticity and of compliance with the standards on this page;
• receives and retains the intake, verification and batch records for units supplied, where available;
• carries out its own incoming check on presentation, labelling, fill and seal before any unit is sold;
• retains the right to inspect the supplier’s records and process.
• We are honest about the limits of this. Verification of this kind is a rigorous commercial standard, not a laboratory authentication. It is designed to catch counterfeits, and we back it with the remedy in Section 6.

4. How Samples Are Prepared

• Genuine retail bottles only. Each unit begins with an original retail bottle, subject to intake verification appropriate to the product.
• Controlled transfer. Fragrance is transferred using clean, single-use or sanitised precision tools, in a way that minimises contamination, cross-contamination between fragrances, and air exposure.
• Quality atomisers. Fragrance is transferred into glass atomisers selected for spray performance, leak resistance and protection from light and air. Atomisers are inspected before filling, where appropriate to the product and format.
• Clean handling. Preparation follows a documented handling procedure covering tool cleaning, workspace separation between fragrances, and contamination control.
• Labelling. Units are labelled with the fragrance name, volume, a Maison Em reference
• Storage. Inventory is stored upright in controlled conditions, protected from heat, direct sunlight, air exposure and contamination.
• Final check. Before dispatch, units are checked for fill level, atomiser seal, correct labelling and clean presentation, appropriate to the product.
• What we do not claim. Our preparation facility is a controlled environment, not a sterile or GMP-certified manufacturing facility, and we do not describe it as one. A decant is a genuine fragrance in a different container — the sensory experience may differ from a sealed original bottle, as explained in our Legal Disclaimer.

5. Batch Traceability

Traceability lives in our records, not on the label. Maison Em maintains product, inventory and order records designed to support traceability. The information maintained may include the source bottle, source or supplier, acquisition information, original manufacturer batch code where available, preparation information and Maison Em internal references. The extent of historical information available may vary for legacy inventory acquired before implementation of Maison Em's current record-keeping procedures.

When applicable, Units carry a Maison Em reference to make identification quicker, but our ability to trace an order does not depend on the customer being able to read it — an order number is sufficient.

These records are maintained for Maison Em and remain accessible to it regardless of which company carries out sourcing or preparation. This is what allows us to identify and contact affected customers if a problem is found.

6. If an Authenticity Issue Arises

If Maison Em identifies a credible authenticity concern, we will investigate it using the information reasonably available to us. Depending on the circumstances, we may suspend the affected product or source, remove stock from sale, contact affected customers where identifiable, provide an appropriate refund or replacement, review the relevant supplier relationship, and take any further action required by applicable law or a competent authority.

7. Raising a Concern

If you have a question or concern about a fragrance or its origin, contact hello@themaisonem.com with your order number. Include the reference from the label if you have it, but it is not required — your order number is enough for us to identify what was supplied.

We will aim to acknowledge within 2 business days and respond with our findings.

8. Why Decants Exist

Fine fragrance is expensive and scent perception is individual. Decants allow you to explore niche and luxury fragrance, test properly on your own skin over several wears, and build a personal collection without committing to a full bottle.
